Zamir Chorale Concert with CBE Choir
At the March Brotherhood Breakfast, we welcomed Larry Sandberg, Concert Manager (and the longest tenured volunteer singer) of the internationally acclaimed Zamir Chorale of Boston. He gave a rousing presentation about the history, music, and mission of the Zamir movement - from its beginnings in Poland in 1899, to its roots in New England today. We now look forward to May 22nd, when CBE will host the Zamir Chorale right here in our sanctuary for a special concert.
Ticket sales for the May 22nd Zamir Chorale performance - which will include CBE's choir and Cantor - took off following the breakfast. We fully expect this concert to sell out. For more information about the concert, with links to hear Zamir's music, visit: http://www.bethelohim.org/zamir.html
Don't miss this opportunity - buy your tickets now!
Tributes in the Zamir Concert Program
Would you like to post a tribute to Rabbi Mintz in the Zamir concert program book? Or, maybe a message to Judy Kramer to thank her for her leadership of our wonderful Choir for the past 36 years? Maybe a dedication to Cantor Sarra to commemorate her years with CBE?
Whatever the message, for $36 you can post up to 60 words in the Zamir concert program book. Please send your messages to be published to firstname.lastname@example.org, then go to the Zamir page on the CBE website (http://www.bethelohim.org/zamir.html) to pay your $36. Select the Tribute option in the ticket ordering section. This offer ends on May 11th, so act now!
While you're on the Zamir page, consider purchasing your concert tickets in advance. Although the pricing is the same at the door, your advance ticket sale lets us know that we can expect to see you in May.
And, if you have a business, it's not too late to purchase an ad in the program. We've extended our ad submission deadline to May 6 and will even design your ad for you! Download an ad ordering form at:
Join fellow Brotherhood members and their guests for a beer brewing session.
Some of us will meet in the CBE Parking lot around 12:10 PM to form a carpool.

Me'ah Select Program - New Classes Added
Me'ah Select classes are intensive and unique single- term classes that focus on particular themes, historical periods, texts and/or personalities in Jewish history. These classes adhere to the same high standards of instruction as the Me'ah Classic program, and are targeted to adults of all backgrounds who are seeking to take a first or ongoing step on their Jewish journeys.
The Adult Education committee wants to bring this program to CBE next academic year and needs your input. The tuition for each semester-long class depends on the class enrollment and is expected to be around $350. Financial assistance is available.
Hebrew College (the facilitator of the program) suggested a few classes for us. The class descriptions can be found here. If you are interested in any of these classes, please either take a survey on the same form or email Julie Kozhukhin at email@example.com. If you take the survey, please make sure to go through all sections and press "Submit" button at the end.

Michael Oren Book Review and Israeli Desserts
To honor Israel Independence Day, the Israel Committee is reading ALLY by Michael B. Oren. We will get together Wednesday, May 11th at 7PM at CBE for a book review and discussion, and some wonderful Israeli desserts.
Michael Oren's memoir of his time as Israel's ambassador to the US provides a frank, fascinating look inside the special relationship between America and its closest ally in the region.
This book is available on Amazon.com as well as in the public library system.

Are you passionate about Jewish Educaton, and have fresh ideas about classes and courses that can be taught here?
Four Sisterhood members, Emily Blumberg, Karen Collins, Lori Lotterman and Barbara Yacouby participated in the Groton Road Race last Sunday.
Karen ran the 10k (she was so fast that we couldn't get a photo of her; pictured here are Lori, Barbara, and Emily) and everyone else did the 5k. It was a fun event, even with our small group!
Be on the lookout for more opportunities to run on the Sisterhood team next year!

Yom HaShoah - Holocaust Memorial Day
CBE Adult Education Committee presents:
Yom HaShoah - Holocaust Memorial Day, Wednesday, May 4th, 7 PM.
Please join Rabbi Lewis Mintz and Cantor Sarra Spierer for a candle lighting ceremony.
Following the candle-lighting will be a screening of the new film Raise the Roof. This uplifting film captures the journey of artists Rick and Laura Brown as they reconstruct the elaborate roof and painted ceiling of the 18th century Gwozdziec synagogue, a structure that rivals the greatest wooden architecture in history.
Presenting the film will be artist and speaker Krista Lima, who worked with the Browns for 10 years and was a painting leader on the project. For more on the film, visit http://www.polishsynagogue.com/.
